ENTRY CATEGORIES

  • CATEGORY 1│East Africa Final year│Architecture Best Project
  • CATEGORY 2│Country Member Section│Best Project
  • CATEGORY 3│Emerging School│Best Project

ELIGIBILITY & ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Entries must be from architecture professional degree Programs located in a country member of the East Africa region and whose local professional body is a member of the East Africa Institute of Architects.

Entries must be final year architectural projects *Final year project meaning last year of the program.

Entries must be projects started and completed between July 2016 and July 2017.

Entries must be projects of fully enrolled full-time students in the programs study.

Entries in category 1:  East Africa Best Final Year Project cannot compete in other categories.

Entries in category 2: must be projects other than the last year of study in the department of architecture

Entries in category 3: must be projects from the first graduating class of the emerging program or school.

All entries must be submitted on-line.

All entries must be submitted before the deadline.

Entries can come from individuals or groups. Entries from groups of students must indicate clearly the members of the group and their contribution to the project. Only one entry allowed for an individual and/or group.


Awards

  • 1st Prize: $2500
  • 2nd Prize: $1000
  • 3rd Prize: $500

 

  • Best Project Kenya: $500
  • Best Project Rwanda: $500
  • Best Project Tanzania: $500
  • Best Project Uganda: $500

Organizer

The East Africa Institute of Architects (EAIA) – The Institute – was established in 1913 to promote excellence in the architectural profession in the East Africa region. With the collapse of the first East African Community in 1977, the EAIA went into dormancy. The EAIA was revived in May 2003 with the amendment of its Constitution to serve the 21st Century objects of The Institute.
