The East Africa Green Building Forum (EAGBF) 2017, themed ¨Greening the Next Decade¨, expands the platform for collaborative sharing knowledge and results.
In the first ever East Africa Green Building Conference in 2015 opened by then Vice President of Tanzania, Hon. Dr. Mohamed Gharib Bilaf, we combined regional forces to adress the issue of green buildings within a broad sustainability framework. Since then, green building knowledge and practice has grow substantially within the region. In this Forum, Tanzania Green Building Council at its stakeholders are back to discuss these gains, and future needs, with an even stronger line-up of speakers.
The Forum will engage the attendees in an open and constructive dialogue on real-world challenges as well as solutions that speakers faced or devised as part of actual projects efforts. These leaders will share the business case for green buildings and the most promising technical and business solutions to creating a resilient and sustainable built environment within the next decade.
Atendees will have the opportunity to hear from top global experts as well as regional leaders on strategies that are both best-practice and unique to the east African region. While acknowledging the challenges facing the green buildings movement, from sourcing sustainable materials, to building technical expertise and capacity, to the political realities in East African countries, the Forum will give attendees practical solutions to tackle these situations in advancing the green buildings agenda.
Attending professionals will exit the Forum with a re-invigorated passion for the green building movement, as well as deeper understanding of the technologies and practices emerging in today´s markets. The Forum aims to foster the next ranks of green buildings change agents by equipping them with the latest knowledge as well as the ability to communicate the benefits and the business case for green buildings within their organisations and across their markets.
